Stany zapalne jamy ustnej (łac. stomatitis) obejmują stany zapalne przyzębia, a także błony śluzowej policzków i warg, języka, dziąseł, podniebienia, gardła oraz dna jamy ustnej. W artykule omówiono najczęściej spotykane stany zapalne jamy ustnej. Zapalenie dziąseł (łac. gingivitis) jest najczęstszym rodzajem zapalenia w jamie ustnej. U dzieci i młodzieży może się rozpoczynać we wczesnym dzieciństwie, a częstość występowania wzrasta z wiekiem. Główną przyczyną jest gromadzenie się płytki nazębnej na granicy dziąsła i szyjki zęba. U niemowląt i małych dzieci często rozpoznaje się opryszczkowe zapalenie jamy ustnej. Jest to choroba wywołana przez wirus Herpes simplex typu 1 (HSV-1).
Etiologia zapalenia warg i języka, gardła i dna jamy ustnej jest zróżnicowana. Postępowanie lecznicze i rokowanie uzależnione są od rodzaju zapalenia. Częstym problemem klinicznym u dzieci i młodzieży są także afty. Stany zapalne jamy ustnej w tej grupie wiekowej są również nierzadkim powikłaniem leczenia onkologicznego.
Abstract:
Oral inflammation includes gingivitis, periodontitis as well as inflammation of cheeks, lips, tongue, palate, throat and floor of mouth. This article discusses the most common oral inflammation. One of the most common oral inflammation is gingivitis. Gingivitis usually begins in early childhood and their frequency increase with age. The main reason of gingivitis is the accumulation of dental plaque on the connection of the gum and neck of the tooth. Infants and small children often suffer from herpetic stomatitis. It’a a disease caused by Herpes Simplex virus (HSV-1). The etiology of inflammation of lips and tongue, throat and the floor of the mouth are varied and each type determines the treatment procedure and prognosis. Aphthae is also a common clinical problem in the paediatric population. Oral inflammation in children is also a frequent side effect of oncological treatment.
